This weekend I witnessed something that makes the above statement very true. I was at a concert in Souix Falls, South Dakota, and there was a crowd there of about 200,000 people. Luis Palau, an awesome speaker who many of you have probably heard of, got up on stage and began to deliver the salvation message. I stood there in utter amazement as he struggled to keep the attention of the massive crowd. His message was a very simple, Billy Graham style message, but the people just wouldn't listen to him. As he concluded he gave an altar call, and quite a few people gave their lives to Christ but not as many as you would expect considering the number in attendance. After the message Third Day began to play. The concert was amazing, one of those concerts which you leave wanting to go play the CD (message) to everyone in the world. At one point I was jumping up and down to the music, and at the peak of one of my jump I looked back and gasped at the sight of 200,000 people worshiping. It was unlike anything I had ever seen. I was almost in tears. God was definitely loving this. Then that song ended, and the next song began. This song began with a simple piano/vocal duet. The words to the song were basically the same words that the crowd was ignoring earlier during the Luis Palau message, but this time the crowd was silent and fixed on the words of the song. I was absolutely amazed. MUSIC SPEAKS. I thank God for giving me a passion for music, and I pray that He will use me to convey messages in the same way Third Day did that night.
